The team has had 2 trips out west since my last communication. 1st trip was to Irvine, California where the Anteater Invitational consisted of 8 teams from California. Colorado and Brown rounded the out of state schools. The event was won by Long Beach State at the very difficult El Niguel CC. The Johnnies finished 9th out of 11 teams. The individual title was won by Connor Campbell of Loyola Marymount w/ 70-75-71=216
Ryan McCormick 77-74-72=223 T10
Dylan Crowley 79-76-80=235
Pat Wilson 79-76-80=235
Ryan Gay 78-78-80=236
Jeremy Quinn 84-83-81=248
Last week the team went to Tempe, Arizona to play the famed Karsten Course (built by the Karsten family, the owners of Ping Golf) on Arizona State campus. The ASU Thunderbird Classic is one of the premier collegiate events in the country. The event was won by UNLV who beat the #1 team in the country Cal/Berkley by a mere shot! The individual was won by Nick Chianello of Oregon State 64-68-70=202, a spectacular 11 under. The Johnnies finished a very respectable 13 out 18 and 1 behind the host team ASU coached by Tim Mickelson.

The team heads to the Northwestern Invitational @ the Glen Club in Chicago on Saturday. Hopefully some good weather will meet them in the windy city. Northwestern (alma mater of Luke Donald) and Ohio State ( I don’t have to tell you who played there, do I?) are paired w/ the Johnnies the 1st day.
Keegan at Masters +1 on day one of low scoring.
